"Siachen The Cold War" Released

A comic titled " Siachen The Cold War" has been released and has hit bookstores in Delhi on 25th of July 2012 and all across India subsequently and available over internet on flipkart and ebay.

The Comic book is about the military conflict between India and Pakistan in the Siachen Glacier and the reasons for it beginning in the first place. This comic book is dedicated to all the Officers and Jawans of the Indian Armed Forces who have fought a gallant battle at the highest battlefield in the planet braving temperatures of -50 degree celsius at dizzying heights of 20000 ft and rarified atmosphere.

Mark of Respect

The Comic displays fearlessness and heroic deeds of our Indian Mavericks who were not deterred by inhuman condition to carry out their duties for whom country comes first at any point. Their zeal, commitment and grit are worth emulating.

The Comic book was possible because of a joint team effort of Rishi Kumar, an Alumnus of Cambridge School and a graduate from Delhi College Of Fine Arts, New Delhi as the conceiver of this project who did the research after gathering information from open sources. He then scripted and illustrated the whole comic book.

Major General (Retd) Ian Cardozo played a special role by providing valuable advice.

Mahender Kumar, the colorist, has captured the essence and ambience of the Siachen glacier with brilliant and outstanding use of colors in the whole comic and the cover.

Dhiranjan Dasgupta, also a graduate of Delhi College of Fine Arts, New Delhi did a wonderful layout and designing of the entire comic by putting it all together.

It was a challenge visualizing the battle scenes in the absence of any kind of visual references. The weapons drawn in the comic are exactly the same that were used during the Siachen conflict. There are AK 47, L1A1 Ishapore Rifles and Universal Machine guns etc you will see in the comic.

  1. Hi, You should give the exclusive right to sell your books online to someone. Right now the delivery charges are more than the book price. And even if I try to buy two books from the same seller there is no reduction in price. I have to pay shipping charge for individual item.
